Mr. Art Methot began in the industry by selling Cascade, Trojan, and Spartan pools after earning his certification as a mechanic. In 1965, he formed Mermaid Pools and under his leadership the company won many awards for excellence in construction and engineering. Over the years Mr. Methot expanded the business to the wholesale market throughout Canada and parts of the United States of America. Mr. Methot’s entrepreneurship led to improved product lines, including technological advancements in filters, liners and coping. He was influential in the training and startup of many contractors in the Ottawa region who owe their roots to Mermaid Pools. Mr. Methot was also instrumental in the startup of the Independent Pool Group.
The Industry Achievement Award was bestowed upon Mr. Methot in 2013.
