Introducing Our New Education Platform

The PHTCC is preparing to launch a new AI-integrated Education Platform designed exclusively for members. Built with a modern, intuitive learning experience in mind, the platform will offer self-paced courses developed by trusted industry educators, faster content updates, and a growing library of free resources. This new system will enhance—not replace—our existing human-led education programs. The future of PHTCC education is coming soon.

CSA Petition

The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) develops the Canadian Electrical Code, Section 68-058, for pools and hot tubs. Provincial electrical authorities interpret and enforce this code through their own bulletins and requirements.

We are collecting industry feedback to support a formal submission to both:

  • CSA; regarding issues, clarifications, and recommendations for future code revisions to rule 68-058; and
  • Provincial electrical authorities; regarding local interpretations, enforcement challenges, and impacts on permitting and construction practices caused by rule 68-058.

While we fully support electrical safety, recent interpretations and enforcement changes have created confusion, inconsistency, and increased costs for contractors, inspectors, and municipalities.

This petition ensures your real-world experiences are represented as we advocate for:

  • Clear, consistent, and practical safety standards
  • Alignment with construction realities across Canada
  • Improved guidance for inspectors and municipalities
  • A collaborative pathway for future updates to the Code and provincial bulletins

Please provide clear and professional feedback. Your submission will help represent the collective voice of the pool & spa industry in formal discussions with CSA and provincial regulators.
