Your Voice at the Table: PHTCC Secures CSA Representation

The Pool & Hot Tub Council of Canada (PHTCC) is pleased to share that we have secured representation on the CSA Committee responsible for electrical bonding standards affecting pools and hot tubs across Canada.

After months of conversation, PHTCC was formally invited in December to join the Committee, ensuring that the voice of our members is represented in national discussions that directly impact their businesses and day-to-day operations. Eric Cairnie (Linerwerx), PHTCC Vice President, has been appointed to represent the Council at the Committee table.

Electrical bonding requirements continue to be an important and evolving issue for builders, installers, service professionals, and retailers across the country. Having representation at the CSA table allows PHTCC to bring forward member-driven concerns, real-world field experience, and practical insight as standards are reviewed and updated.

This participation strengthens PHTCC’s ongoing advocacy efforts and reinforces our commitment to ensuring that regulatory discussions reflect the realities our members face while maintaining safety and consistency across Canada.

Through our involvement, PHTCC will be able to:

  • Represent the interests and concerns of our members
  • Bring forward real-world operational challenges and feedback
  • Provide practical input during standards discussions
  • Stay informed on proposed changes before they impact members

We look forward to continuing to advocate on behalf of our members and ensuring their perspectives are represented as these important discussions move forward.

Members with questions or feedback related to bonding requirements or code discussions are encouraged to reach out to PHTCC National so they can be brought forward through the appropriate channels.
